Alhambra, one of the Wonders of the World

22/05/2007

Imagen de los leones de la Alhambra de Granada The Alhambra in Granada is among the candidates to be elected one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

It was hundreds of years ago that those that, until now, have been known as the Seven Wonders of the World were named (the Lighthouse at Alexandria, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon or the Great Pyramid of Giza, are some of these ancient wonders).

The Swiss organisation New 7 Wonders Foundation has proposed electing the new Seven Wonders of the World in 2007 via popular voting on its website, as nowadays there are many works of art that deserve recognition. Among the candidates is the Alhambra, which is applying to become one of the 7 Wonders of the 21st Century.

At Alhambra Internacional, we wish to collaborate in Granada’s monument receiving such an important distinction. We consider ourselves ambassadors of the Alhambra and as well as sharing the same name and country, we share tradition, culture and above all, we both stand out for our distinction and design.

For us it is an honour to have the same name as one of Spain’s most important strongholds and reminders of our history and culture. For this reason, we are making the most of this opportunity that has arisen to recognise this beautiful historic monument. Cast your vote so that the Alhambra can be considered one of the 7 Wonders of the World.
